One of the most iconic voices of the '60s Mary Travers (singer) (1936-2009) died at age 72 at a Danbury, Ct., hospital. She had battled leukemia for several years. Travers lived for many years in Redding, Conn. The 72-year-old Mary had been fighting leukemia since 2005 and eventually succumbed to the disease despite a bone marrow transplant. It is sad to see a true, long-lasting artist pass.
She survived by her fourth husband, two daughters, two grandchildren and a sister. Peter, Paul and Mary Perform 'Leaving on a Jet Plane'
