I was running into this deep forest shoving the branches that slapped my face and clearing the webs that stuck on my cheeks. I ran frantically… trying to reach the other end of the forest that was so deep it could engulf the black hole. Spiders fell on me, birds flew into me… animals ran across but I kept running… perspiring and not realizing at all. My top stuck on to my ribs and I kept pulling it away as I ran. My feet would twist and cramp in small dentures on the ground. It would slower my momentum for a while but din’t deter me.
As I ran I saw a bright light from a distance. I knew that is what I was chasing. The bright light. But its always at the end of the tunnel right? How come at the end of a forest this time? Who cares! Run….. I gained momentum. Speeding through the deep dense forest, squatting when tired, getting back on feet and running…
I could see the light getting brighter as I neared it. As my feet gathered impetus the smile on my face grew wider. For a second I was disoriented by the brightness of the light and I tripped over something and fell down. Exasperated, I began cursing and plucked the silly thing from under my butt. A lamp! It was a lamp! I was jumping with joy…. Hither tither!
‘Your wish is my command!’ The Jeannie popped out. I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. My first impulse was to ask for something to convince myself. So I asked for myself to be teleported to my house. Phstcccccccccccchhhhhk! There I was in my bed. Rubbing my eyes… still not believing fully that I found a jeannie. I looked around… under my sheets, under the pillow.. under my bed…everywhere… no jeannie…! I thought I left the jeannie in the forest and I should’ve asked for him and me to be teleported together. How dumb! I rubbed my eyes harder.. trying to recollect where I left the lamp… realized I was dreaming. Of a Jeannie.
So in my dreams also I could not make the most of an opportunity. In my dreams also I ended up asking for something that made no sense. Soon after, I realized that dreams genuinely give us answers to a lot of questions in real life. Its only that we wake up and forget them or try not to make sense of it. Dreams tell you something – that the mind doesn’t stop working just because you have slept.
Dreams – gave me a Jeannie that I didn’t believe in Dream. To make things happen in reality.
