Want To Be A Professional Blogger But Don’t Have The Readership To Draw Advertisers?

Recently I was listening to this podcast, because an online buddy of mine was being interviewed about blogging and how it’s changing from being a fluffy online diary to being a source of content.

And one of the issues someone raised was how challenging it is to become a professional blogger because you have to have good content and a following and be able to attract advertisers.

And it struck me that the one possibility they didn’t talk about was blogging for others for a living.

Being a blogger for others allows you to do what you love (and probably do it from a location of your choice) and still get paid. It is hard work, and you do have to be very professional, but it can be very rewarding.

And it definitely allows you to grow your connections and expertise, which you can also use for your own projects.

So who can you blog for?

You can blog for
large corporates that want to expand their online brand.

Or
smaller companies that know that that they should use online media to promote their product and services but don’t have the personell to dedicate to the task. Or even if they do have the people, they are not skilled enough to be effective.

You can blog for
small business owners and consultants who want to be out in the online space, but don’t have the time or inclination to blog.

Or you can blog for
non-profits to promote a specific cause or project.

You can even blog for
networks and content sites that pay per post.

You can look for paying gigs at the following sites:

Problogger

Freelance Writing Gigs

If you’re a writer, you can also approach companies that you already have a relationship with to find out if they would like to explore the blogging option.
